We rose, enjoyed a breakfast of French toast, and headed out to the main town – between the walls- to visit Bella Croix and collect gossip.

The market was lively and there was talk about the fertility festival. Some vendors were even offering discounts due to the event. Rhapsody found a short dress that glitters like starlight, and negotiated with Ethmund, the proprietress. Nyxx found a skirt, but was disappointed in the lack of horn adornments. Rishara quietly purchased a green Grecian style gown and tucked it away.

Nyxx and Rhapsody were enticed by a jewelry seller’s selection (Olga). She showed the trio a selection of jewelry appropriate to their needs. Nyxx tried on earrings and a galapa passing by commented on them- this made Rishara uncomfortable and she discovered that the magic in the pieces is not malevolent, but was unsure the pieces were a good idea. Rhapsody also tried on jewelry, and she and Rishara shared the cost of the purchases. Nyxx received Mirrorveil Earrings:

We noticed a clank acting as a huckster for both lunch and great deals a few rows over.

A group of people were watching something (unknown) but not participating.

Nyxx directed Rishara’s attention to a large, dark green Dragonborn in the crowd, and explains the mark of a feather with a curve around it to Rishara – it represents the Ivory Quill, which is the group that has taken over everything that has taken over the town. We observed as a half elf walked up and spoke to him, and then departed.

We decided to leave, and as we did so we noticed a fungril tipping his cp towards us. Rhapsody decided he looed s though he was up to no good.

Rishara began to behave in a very uncharacteristic manner – goggling, fluttering, and generally making her friends very uncomfortable. The deception worked and we were able to escape towards the inner ring.

Nyxx took us to a tavern called The Mysterious Ghoul, and gave us instructions to access a shortcut to the tunnels. The bartender was familiar to Nyxx, and one by one we made our way to the loo, where there was a a passage into the tunnels. The fungril network was very active, which made Rishara mention the security of the fungril network – Nyxx is certain it is secure but Rishara is not convinced.

Rhapsody and Nyxx are relieved that Rishara is not possessed or cursed or otherwise compromised.

We headed towards the barracks, and our lunch. We gave report, and Russyla confirmed the fungril network’s security, but says the the fungril network belonging to the Ivory Quill.is also secure, leaving the resistance with no insight into what they might be doing in real time..

As we were dining, a sobbing elf arrived, saying “I can’t go back there, not right now”. She was introduced as Errasue, and she had been working in the manor as surveillance.

Nyxx asked questions and Errasue said that the High Chancellor’s righthand man, Damnon, had been watching her wash dishes, and asked if she needed a hand. He then pulled out a forearm and hand which had been severed at the elbow, and she recognized it as having belonged to Armie, who was a member of the resistance and had been very active. Damnon then said “We are watching” and asked questions about where Errasue lived.

Nyxx was very alarmed by this.

Clenwe came in and said no one is to go up the tunnel to the manor. Hildegard elaborated that anyone who is part of the inside crew will be staying in the barracks and not in the manor and will enter the manor through the street entrance. No one is leaving the resistance. This was underscored by a panicked resistance member threatening to leave and being corralled into one of the recessed and immediately consumed by the mycelium present there.

We were informed that Josef was aware we had eyes on us while we were in the markets.

Nyxx says that we needed more information about what happened, how Armie was taken, and what information he could have given while he was being tortured.

She looked at Rishara and Rhapsody and said “We are going to be a team for a while. Welcome to the resistance.”
